Tribes

The Permitting Council engages with Tribal Governments to support their involvement in federal environmental reviews of FAST-41 covered infrastructure projects. Our work ensures that Tribal Governments have the capacity necessary to engage so that Tribal sovereignty, cultural heritage, and rights are respected throughout the permitting process. 

Tribes also have special eligibility to have Tribally-sponsored infrastructure projects be covered under FAST-41. This allows our agency to support Tribal projects through the permitting process regardless of the size of the project.
